The Story of Alysse Stewart
New life entered the world in the late 60's on Thursday January 16th at 6:26 PM just as the sun had gone down. Leaving traces of soft reds and an even softer shade of purple in the sky just above the hospital in Harrisburg Pa. The baby named by her father weighed in at 7 pounds and 14 ounces. From the piercing sounds emitted from her tiny mouth, no one would have ever guessed she'd someday become a radio personality…
Charlotte and surrounding areas meet your newest coworker Alysse Stewart. She is currently featured on the airwaves of V1019 FM - WBAV. Monday - Friday 10 AM to 3 PM. During each show she promises to entertain each listener with water-cooler-gossip, unique contest, the occasional artist interview and request and love dedications. While at the same time stopping down to share tiny pieces of her private life (with the hopes that the information might inspire or cause someone to laugh aloud.
Alysse began her radio career in 1990 at WQOK in Raleigh, NC. Much later she would call WWWZ in Charleston, SC her new home. It is there that she won the hearts of many in the midday post. While living on the coast. She was appointed to the position of the station's Music Director. In her spare time she happily mentored young girls through a program directed by the mayor's office. And worked for the Coastal Times Newspaper as a featured columnist.
Four years later she loaded a truck with all her belongings and headed for Greenville, South Carolina for duties as the morning show co-host. Alysse say's although she was grateful for the opportunity. She is quoted as saying "that show started at 5:30 each day, but I didn't physically and sometimes mentally wake up until noon!" Since joining the V-Crew she has worked in the capacity of the host of the Love Zone. A show recently ranked number one in the market. Since early summer (2005) she has held the midday slot. A time period she hopes to make number one as well with the help of the faithful listeners of WBAV.
